Second deal this week for Clean Air Power

LANCASHIRE’s Clean Air Power has announced a second new order in three days.
Having agreed a deal in the UK worth £500,000 on Monday, the company has won an oder from its German distributor worth around £300,000 ($500,000) for its natural gas injectors.
CAP said the injectors will be used in the manufacture of a 7-litre medium-duty spark ignited natural gas engine by a global truck manufacturer. The engine, which is suitable for use in vehicles such as buses and refuse vehicles, is to be aimed at the growing Russian market where the government there has set out plans to encourage the use of natural gas as a road fuel throughout the country.
Clean Air Power, whose shareholders include billionaire Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, is also developing the Russian market and plans to launch its Genesis-EDGE Dual-Fuel product there later this year.
Its Genesis-EDGE product is particularly targeted at heavy-duty diesel trucks and enables them to run on natural gas as well as diesel while delivering significant cost and emissions reduction benefits to the user.
Chief executive John Pettitt said: “Demand for natural gas vehicles in Russia is increasing, driven by clear government direction, as investment by major gas supply companies extends the natural gas refuelling network into new parts of the country.
“This latest order for natural gas injectors to be used in engines for the Russian market is further evidence of this trend and validates our strategy to launch our Genesis-EDGE Dual-Fuel product into the Russian market later this year. Sales of specialized components continue to provide a useful supplement to our core Dual Fuel business.”
