Cable to open Burnley Bridge Business Park

BUSINESS secretary Vice Cable is officially opening Burnley Bridge Business Park today.
The 70-acre site is being developed by Leeds-based Eshton which has completed the first three buildings and has submitted plans for a fourth.
The £50m development at junction 9 of the M65 has two 29,000 sq ft blocks and the 64,100 sq ft Cobalt Building. Earlier this month Eshton submitted proposals for a 10,000 sq ft building called Magnesium Court.
The scheme has been supported by £3.8m grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and a £2.4m loan from Lancashire’s Growing Places fund. It is hoped the site will support 1,400 jobs.
In a statement Mr Cable said: “It is encouraging to see the growth that is taking place in Burnley. It has weathered the years since the financial crash well and manufacturing in the town is now enjoying a real renaissance.”
