Sales heat up at Vickers Energy Group

AN ENERGY management company, which supplies its systems to much larger businesses including Boots and Rolls-Royce, is on track for a record year.
Trafford Park-based Vickers Energy Group, backed by private equity firms Enterprise Ventures and PHD Equity Partners, is seeing strond demand for its products as companies look to reduce their energy usage and costs.
Revenue at the firm, which also supplies Stagecoach and Warburtons, is up 35% to £2.4m in the six months to January, and is set to top £4.5m in the full-year.
Vickers designs and manufactures an intelligent, self-learning technology which monitors building temperatures to reduce overall energy usage. The system is particularly useful in sectors in which businesses typically operate large buildings, such as manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and retail.
With energy usage consistently listed as a top concern for businesses, and with fuel prices rising, companies are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their use of power. New Vickers clients in the past 12 months include GKN Aerospace, ArcelorMittal, Bombardier, First Great Western and John Deere.
Managing director David Hilton said: “Energy is the burning issue of the moment and for many businesses it is the biggest overhead of all. With prices set to rise indefinitely we are finding that companies of all size are being realistic about the need to act to cut their energy bills and invest the savings elsewhere.
“As we move into the final few months of our financial year, we have an encouraging pipeline of business to sustain us and we are confident of recording our best ever set of results.”
Chief executive Nicholas Owen added: “Our system is smart and adapts to all types of building, from manufacturing facilities to retail warehouses, providing business owners and managers with real peace of mind that energy is not being wasted.”
