New HQ for Hullabaloo

A BUSINESS that provides sound effects for children’s characters such as Postman Pat and Bob The Builder has moved to a new £300,000 post-production base in Altrincham.

Hullabaloo Studios has moved from the south Manchester suburb Chorlton after securing funding from Lombard, the asset finance arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland.

The business, established in 1996 by Darren Cox and Simon Hall, has been associated with many BAFTA award-winning programmes and now employs nine staff.

It has established a reputation as one of the leading providers of sound services to the animation industry having worked on numerous children’s TV series and feature films.

Director, Darren Cox, said: “The new production facilities are a great step forward for us and ensure that we have the capability to handle increased volumes of work from both the sound and picture editing markets.

“We were struggling for space at our old base and for the business to keep growing it was essential to find a new site.”
