Liverpool unveils Accelerate 2014 bill

LIVERPOOL will revisit its high growth business conference Accelerate during this year’s International Festival for Business (IFB).

The inaugural event last year saw the likes of Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales discuss the secrets of their success.

It was a pre-cursor to this year’s IFB but also illustrated the city’s desire to attract more start-ups and fast-growing firms.

This year’s event at the Arena & Convention Centre on June 20 will feature Apprentice star Karren Brady, designer Wayne Hemingway and Michelle Mone, founder of the lingerie brand Ultimo.

It will be presented by Liverpool-born journalist and presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy and will also features many other speakers.

Mayor Anderson said: “New, ideas-led companies, that are determined to grow, represent Liverpool’s dynamic and vibrant personality and I am committed to helping them achieve success. Last year’s inaugural Accelerate event was inspiring and underlined Liverpool’s commitment to support business and invigorate entrepreneurs in the UK and across the world.”
