Appointments: Pets at Home; Berg & more

NEWLY-listed retailer Pets at Home has strengthened its board with the appointment of former Britvic chief executive Paul Moody as a non-executive director.

The 56-year-old spent 17 years with the drinks firm and led it to the stock market in 2005.

Since 2013, he has been chief executive of Food Freshness Technology, a high tech innovations company focused on delivering comprehensive solutions for food freshness. He is also on the board of North West-based Johnson Service Group, and will become its chairman in May.

Pets at Home chairman Tony DeNunzio, said: “Paul’s background and extensive experience and understanding of brand, marketing and consumer dynamics will be particularly useful as we continue to expand and grow Pets at Home. He has a strong track record in consumer-facing industries and will be a valuable addition to our board following our successful IPO.”

MANCHESTER commercial law firm Berg has strengthened its litigation team with a clutch of new hires.

Five new starters join the team, including solicitors David Reilly from Boote Edgar Esterkin and Tate Chakrabarty, previously of Gateley.

The team has also been boosted with the arrival of Christopher Glover and Julia Howard, both paral-egals, along with administrator Sam Bramwell.

Berg’s senior partner, Reuben Berg, said: “These new appointments are a welcome addition to our talented and growing team of litigators and paralegals, as we continue to expand and develop our dispute resolution offering to clients, particularly those affected by the mis-selling of financial derivatives such as swap agreements.”

AIM-listed field management software company ServicePower Technologies has announced that non-executive chairman Lindsay Bury is stepping down at the end of this month.

He will remain on the board, and be succeeded by another long-standing non-executive director, Hugh Fitzwilliam-Lay.

WARRINGTON company MDS, a provider of convergent billing and customer management solutions,  has strengthened its board with the appointment of Andrew Taylor as a non-executive director, to support its growth plans.

Mr Taylor is a forrmer chief executive of Intec, and a regional executive at Caribbean telecoms firm Digicel, He is currently CEO of Nomad Digital, a provider of wireless services for trains and buses.

He said: “MDS is at an exciting point in its development.  I am thrilled to have joined the board at this important time.  The MDS platform allows for fast product innovation over a proven managed service, something that operators really need.”
