Lettings latest: Tetra Pak; ACL; UK Flight Centre; Hurstwood

TETRA PAK has taken nearly 12,000 sq ft in Chester as its new UK headquarters.

The business, which makes drinks cartons, is relocating from Wrexham to The Foundation, a 32,000 sq ft former Lloyds Bank training centre at Chester Business Park.

Coat hanger manufacturer Mainetti acquired Tetra Pak’s former site on Wrexham Industrial Estate for £3.5m earlier this year.

Rupert Barron, director of the national offices team at Colliers in Manchester, acted for the landlord, UKPH No 1, with Legat Owen.

It is understood the company has paid around £16.50/sq ft.

SHIPPING specialist Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has taken a further 4,600 sq ft of office space at Peel Group’s Princes Dock in Liverpool.

The company now has 17,600 sq ft at Number 8 Princes Dock.

Managing director Ian Higby said: “We needed to find some extra space pretty quickly and being able to add to our existing space here at Princes Dock was the perfect solution. We are grateful to Peel for being able to react in double quick time to provide the additional space we required.

Peel’s asset manager Liza Marco said: “The quality of the environment at Princes Dock and its unrivalled waterfront setting means we are continuing to attract many prestigious national and international organisations.”

DTZ represented ACL, whilst CBRE and Keppie Massie acted on behalf of Peel.

UK Flight Centre (UK) has agreed a new lease on 2,260 sq ft at 39 Deansgate in Manchester.

Formally known as Speakers House, 39 Deansgate is being marketed by DTZ and WHR. Around 20,600 sq ft is still available at the building which is being refurbished.

Rob Prescott, office agency and development surveyor at DTZ, said: “We are pleased to welcome Flight Centre; their commitment is testament to the quality of the refurbishment which is still ongoing.”

MANCHESTER landlord Hurstwood has let more office space at Edwin Foden Business Centre in Sandbach, Cheshire.

Long-time tenant SafeGuard World International has expanded, taking an additional 3,000 sq ft on a five-year lease.

The company, which provides global payroll and employment outsourcing services, has been at the building since 2008 and now has more than 15,000 sq ft.

Chief accountant Julie Power said: “SafeGuard World International has been leasing space in Edwin Foden Business Centre for several years now, since our very early days as a start-up technology company. We continue to grow and hire more staff and the Hurstwood management team has been highly accommodating and flexible in their efforts to support our continuing need for more office space.”
