One St Peter’s Square takes shape with fit-out deal

ARGENT’S One St Peter’s Square is nearing completion with ISG bagging the fit-out brief for anchor tenant KPMG and a high profile restaurant chain preparing to open on the ground floor.
In a stock market statement ISG said St Peter’s Square was one of four contracts it has won in the past month with a total value of £70m.
Meanwhile, restaurant chain San Carlo has submitted a licence application to open a Fumo-branded restaurant in one of the units fronting onto St Peter’s Square which is being reconfigured to allow for Metrolink’s second city crossing.
The group has a Fumo in Birmingham but it would be a new addition to Manchester where it operates a San Carlo in Selfridges and King Street West and at the former Players restaurant in Hale Barns. It also has a Cicchetti in a ground floor unit at Kendals.
KPMG has agreed a lease on 63,000 sq ft at the 270,000 sq ft block which has been developed by Argent and the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund.
ISG said its other contract wins are: a 140,000 sq ft fit out of the new UK headquarters for legal firm, CMS Cameron McKenna, at Cannon Place in the City of London; an 80,000 sq ft project in the ‘Walkie-Talkie’ building in Fenchurch Street; and a 135,000 sq ft office scheme at the Bedfont Lakes business park in Middlesex for BP.
