C&C Catering Equipment wins Tate Modern brief

FAMILY-owned Chester company C&C Catering Equipment has won a prestigious contract at the Tate Modern in London.
After a competitive process, described by director Paul Parry, as the “most rigorous” he has seen in 30 years in the sector, C&C will begin work on the project in the next few weeks and will be on site until mid-2015.
The company was approached this time last year to began an in depth pre-qualification process. They were then asked to tender and after six separate meetings were shortlisted for the project. After a final round of interviews involving its project team, it was awarded the contract.
C&C will be working together with main contractors MACE and design consultants SHW.
The works encompass new facilities including: a shop-fitted cafe on level 2 and coffee bar on level 3, a restaurant on level 8, private members dining facilities, a fine dining restaurant and a bar area on other floors.
The Tate Modern’s extension comes after the huge success the gallery has enjoyed in recent years.
C&C’s other recent projects include installations at Burberry’s HQ in London, Sunbury Court, the Salvation Army’s headquarters, Macmillan Publishing, the Michelin starred Northcote Manor in the Ribble Valley, BBC Sport at iCity in the Olympic Park, the Mandarin Oriental and Café Royal Hotels and Wolfson College Oxford.
