Lord Heseltine returns for IFB

LORD Heseltine will return to Liverpool this summer to take part in both the business and cultural programmes of the International Festival for Business 2014.
The genesis of the festival was the independent report Rebalancing Britain: Policy or Slogan, which Lord Heseltine co-authored with former Tesco chief executive, Sir Terry Leahy in 2011.
Their main recommendation was for Liverpool to hold an ‘expo’ event highlighting the city and the region as a great investment and business location.
The former Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Secretary is to appear at several events at the UK’s inaugural IFB2014, which is the biggest business festival of its kind in the country for more than 60 years, featuring more than 200 high-quality business events.
Lord Heseltine will be the next interviewee in the In Conversation Series, appearing at St George’s Hall on Tuesday, June 17, an event which is part of the official cultural programme of IFB2014.
He is also one of the key participants in the 300-strong BT Global City Leaders’ summit on Wednesday, June 18 and in the exhibition and conference for the UK regeneration industry, Regen 2014 on June 24-25.
He said: “I’m very much looking forward to being back in Liverpool and to being interviewed in St George’s Hall. The International Festival for Business will be a wonderful showcase for the city and it is a pleasure to be involved in both its business and cultural programmes.”
As a minister Lord Heseltine worked to help revive the city after the Toxteth riots and was instrumental in the redevelopment of the Albert Dock when the Merseyside Development Corporation was set up in 1981.
