JW Lees toasts record year with £67m growth plan

FAMILY-owned  brewer and pub operator  JW Lees is raising a glass to a record year today, with ambitious plans to invest more than £67m in expanding  by opening a further 65 pubs.

The Middleton-based group, which is holding its annual conference in Manchester, believes its investment programme could create 1,000 jobs in the North West. It’s growth plan is to grow sales from £62.8m to £100m in the  next five years.

JW Lees also announced the introduction of a profit share scheme for its 1,100 employees who work across its breweries, pubs and head office.

“These results are the spring board for our five year plan which is all about growth. We are planning to invest £67.5m in buying and developing new pubs over the next five years.

“It is paramount that we continue to put our people at the heart of our business because to achieve our plans we need to create 1,000 new jobs to serve our guests in our pubs and drive the business.”.
