Developer plans apartments at Salford metal yard

A DEVELOPER is planning more than 50 flats at a site next to the River Irwell in Salford.

A company called BW Elliott is behind the plan for the block in Meadow Road, Lower Broughton, on land occupied by metal supplier Manchester Metals & Alloys.

A planning application lodged with the council sets out a plan for 56 two, three and four-bed apartments.

The plot is close to Peel Park and Salford University but the document does not say if the accommodation will be aimed at students.

BW Elliott is owned by Tracey Elliott and is based in Blyth, Northumberland. Manchester Metals & Alloys is owned by the Mutch family and has its head office in Newcastle.
