Corporate financier Aston joins forces with former boss

MANCHESTER-based corporate financier Lee Aston has joined forces with his former boss, David Currie, in a new venture, Codex Capital Partners.
Mr Currie has just left Investec, where he ran its UK investment banking division for more than a decade.
Based in London, Codex has been set up to enable ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices to make direct investments.
Hale-based Mr Aston, who previously ran his own advisory business, LHA Financial, has become a partner in Codex. He worked at Investec with David Currie, whom he met playing rugby at Oxford University, before leaving to join Numis.
He said: “It’s great to be working together again and addressing the increasing desire of family offices and ultra-high net worths to see and have the opportunity to invest directly in interesting deals whilst maintaining their privacy.
“I be focusing mostly on the M&A side of the business while David will look after the investment partners. We are speaking to several potential hires at the moment.”
Mr Aston, will continue to divide his time between Hale and London. In January he advised the shareholder of Nottingham-based financial services technology group TDX to listed US group Equifax for £200m.
