Appointments: RS Clare; UHY Hacker Young; Close Brothers; Graham; Patrick Parsons

LIVERPOOL-based lubrications manufacturer RS CLare has promoted Noel Patterson as managing director.

Mr Patterson joined the company in 2010 and was previously its commercial director. Last year he stepped into the chief executive at short notice.

This allowed Ian Meadows to perform his High Sheriff duties across Merseyside.

Mr Meadows has now returned and is holding the position of executive group chairman.

PAUL Daly and David Kendrick have joined Manchester accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young as partners to develop the audit and corporate finance teams respectively.

Daly has more than 19 years’ audit experience, initially qualifying with Arthur Andersen prior to joining a specialist automotive practice. He had joined the firm from ASE Incorporating Trevor Jones.

Kendrick has more than 10 years’ business development and corporate finance experience within professional service businesses. He has joined from ASE.

Managing partner Mike Wasinski said: “These two appointments continue the introduction of younger partners to the firm and strengthen our audit and corporate finance offerings going forward. Along with Matthew Hodgson, who

joined last year, we are now looking to develop these and our specialist tax services within the North West business community.”

CLOSE Brothers Business Finance, part of the commercial division at Close Brothers Group, has appointed Barry Joughin as business development manager in the North West.

He joins from Bellcote Finance and Leasing in Lancashire where he spent the last five years as a director.
 
In his new role, he will be responsible for generating new business and delivering asset finance services to a variety of sectors and businesses through the company’s broker network.
 
Mr Joughin said: “This is an exciting new chapter in my career, and I am pleased to be joining such an experienced and ambitious team that is committed to offering brokers a wide range of innovative financial solutions for their clients.”

CONSULTING engineer Patrick Parsons has appointed John Joyce to the newly created role of building services director based at its Chester office.

The firm also has offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Birmingham, Glasgow, Huddersfield, London and Dubai.

Joyce, who is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, has more than 30 years’

experience in building services, previously working for a number of high-profile engineering companies across the UK.

He will head up the mechanical and electrical team and has ambitious plans to double its size by 2015.

GRAHAM Construction has appointed Gary Hughes as a regional director in Manchester.

Hughes has worked for both national and international construction firms throughout his career, leading on projects worth up to £100m in the private and public sector.
