Airport City bosses woo Chinese occupiers

MORE than 200 representatives from Chinese businesses have attended four roadshows to showcase Manchester’s Airport City development, airport bosses said.

Last week a delegation from Manchester Airports Group, its partners in the Airport City project, the city’s inward investment agency MIDAS, the British Embassy in China, visited Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen where they met potential occupiers keen to learn more about the 5 million sq ft project.

In each city a series of presentations were made to show attendees the scale of the project, investment opportunities in Manchester, the ease of integrating into British life and to announce Airport City Manchester’s CONNECT service, which is a conciege service for potential occupiers, and offers help with visas, tax assistance, company registration, plus local issues such as residential advice and tips on the best schools and universities.

Industry sectors that attended the events include financial, legal, aviation and telecommunications. Attendees in China have now been invited to come over to Airport City Manchester in September to see the project first-hand.

Among the delegation was BCEG – the Chinese constuction group which is a 20% joint venture partner im Airport City.
