Dandara plans 1,000 Salford flats

DEVELOPER Dandara has drawn up revised plans for a huge scheme of nearly 1,000 apartments off Chapel Street next to the River Irwell in Salford.
The site, off Clowes Street, has an existing planning permission but it never progressed because of the downturn.
Dandara said its revised proposal will create 995 one, two and three-bed homes in a collection of four buildings set around courtyards.
Martin Brown of Dandara said: “We believe our revised proposals for new apartments and commercial space will revitalise this site and play a major role in the on-going regeneration of the Chapel Street corridor and central Salford.”
It will submit a planning application later this year and is holding a public exhibition on Tuesday June 24, between 3pm-8pm, at the Lowry Hotel, to let nearby residents see the designs.
