Flowgroup opens Cheshire training base

FLOWGROUP, the Cheshire-based company which has developed a pioneering new electricity generating domestic boiler, has opened a new training base in Preston Brook.

The 9,000sq ft unit, located just off the M56 and close to the inter-section with the M6, will be used to train Gas Safe registered engineers how to operate, install and maintain its Flow microCHP boiler, prior to the volume launch in the first quarter of 2015.

The facility incorporates office space, lecture rooms, a showroom showcasing Flow’s unique technology, training rooms and a technical support centre.  There are two wet and one dry training rooms containing a total of 10 fully-functioning Flow boilers, where installers can get hands-on experience of working with Flow’s technology.

It has the capacity to train up to 64 installers a week, allowing in excess of 3,000 installers to be accredited on an annual basis. Flow’s marketing campaign to encourage installers to register for training has already been initiated with a large take up exceeding expectations.

Chief executive Tony Stiff said: “With the Flow boiler production plans established, the next phase is to have sufficient qualified installers throughout the country to meet the expected demand. Our sales teams have visited installers across the country and the feedback has been very encouraging.

“Now that our manufacturing partner, Jabil, has begun to build the production line, our new training centre provides another very tangible reminder of the progress we’re continually making towards our goal of bringing our game-changing electricity-generating boiler to the mass market.”
