Appointments: Ultimate Finance; JLL; Bentley Motors

ULTIMATE Finance is continuing to grow its presence in the region with several new hires.

The small business asset-based lender’s newest recruit is Clive Briggs who has joined from Aldermore Invoice Finance.  Previously with RBS Invoice Finance, Mr Briggs has over 25 years’ experience of the commercial finance industry.

He joins Mark Holland, who recently arrived from Bibby Financial Services, Martin Emmott (formerly with Hitachi Capital) and Duncan Baxter the company’s Manchester office.

Group sales director, Nick Smith, who joined earlier this year from Aldermore, said: “Not long ago we announced our vision of building a truly national footprint for the business.  These new appointments significantly strengthen our team in the North West.  They’re all extremely experienced and have been part of the corporate finance industry in this area for many years.”

Ultimate Finance Group is on a growth drive following its acquisition by listed investment company Renovo.

PROPERTY adviser JLL has promoted 13 of its North West surveyors from across eight different sectors.

Four consultants have been promoted in its planning and development team, including Adam White and Joanna Gabrilatsou who have each become local directors. Tom McWilliams becomes an associate director and Alexandra Eatough a senior planner.

In its building and construction team there are three promotions to associate director with Robert Critchley, Chris Wilman and Matthew Benton moving up.

Lee Watts from the valuations team and Robert Hogarth from the residential team, also become associate directors.
 
In addition Tom Powell from the out-of-town retail and leisure team has become a local director, while Alistair Greenhalgh is now senior vice president in the hotels and hospitality group; and Lucy Davies, senior surveyor for property and asset management.

Last but by no means least, Jessica Spears has been promoted to property manager in the consultancy’s retail management business.

Dr Jörg Mull, executive vice president, finance of Volkswagen Group China, will become the new board member of finance of Bentley Motors effective from September 1. He is taking over the key role at the Crewe manufacturer  from Jan-Henrik Lafrentz who is leaving the bsuiness at the end of August.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley’s chief executive said: “I am delighted that with Dr Mull we have appointed a highly respected expert in finance and controlling with many years of experience. I am convinced that Jörg Mull will play a significant role in the future successful development of Bentley.”

Jörg Mull took over as executive vice president, finance of Volkswagen China on in September 2007. He worked in Singapore and Tokyo from 1996 to 2002. The economist, who also holds a PhD, then moved to Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg, where he was responsible for the pricing of product projects.

LIVERPOOL solicitors Jackson Canter has appointed experienced conveyancer Angela Hesketh to lead its property division.

A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, Angela has more than 20 years of experience in the sector. She has appeared on a number of television shows including The Politics Show and Sky Channel Legal TV and at the Grand Designs Live exhibition as a highly regarded specialist in her field.

BOLTON-based Russell and Russell Solicitors have appointed Luke Dolby to lead its growth in the commercial property sector.

Mr Dolby from Nicholls Solicitors in Altrincham and will be based at the firm’s head office in Wood Street, Bolton. He trained with DLA Piper and then moved to Eversheds.

He said: “This is an exciting time for Russell and Russell. The practice has a pedigree history and enjoys and enviable reputation, so to be involved in the next phase of its evolution was too good an opportunity to miss. I’m looking forward to building on the department’s business base and developing new relationships.”

Founded in 1887, Russell and Russell Solicitors has seven offices across the North West, the most recent of which is its Chester office is in the White Friars area of the city.
