Maintenance firm reaches for the sky with funding deal

A COMPANY which provides niche maintenance and cleaning services at landmark buildings such as the Co-op’s Angel Square headquarters, is aiming high after securing a £500,000 funding deal.

Founded in 2005, east Manchester based High Access Maintenance offers services for high buildings including: roof repairs, gutter maintenance, cladding refurbishment, high pressure washing, and banner installation.

The Openshaw-based firm has moved its banking to Yorkshire Bank and secured a £500,000 invoice finance facility which will free up cash to grow the day-to-day business.  The deal was led by Helen Miller, relationship manager at Yorkshire’s business and private banking centre in Manchester.

Niel Bethell, managing director at High Access Maintenance, said: “At a time when we’re taking our services into new markets it’s important that our business model is supported by our bank. As we approach our 10th anniversary the company is going from strength to strength and we have every intention of building on our existing momentum.”

High Access Maintenance, which has 51 staff, is on course to increase turnover by a third from £3m to £4m in the current financial year. It has recently opened a London base which offers major growth potential and has a goal of growing turnover to £5.8m by 2016.

Sean Williams, head of Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking centre in Manchester said: “The continued success which High Access Maintenance is enjoying reflects the commitment of Niel and his team and represents all that is good about the entrepreneurial spirit of the North West’s business community.”
