NES Global Talent makes maiden acquistion with Norway deal

NES Global Talent, the international oil and gas manpower services company, has made its first-ever acquisition, snapping-up a Norwegian business.

Altrincham-based NES has previously relied on organic growth – founded in 1978 it has 40 offices in 26 countries, including Norway.

It has acquired RC Consultants, a provider of engineering consultancy services and manpower solutions to the oil and gas industry in Norway. Founded in 1987, RC Consultants is headquartered in Sandnes.

Steve Buckley, chief financial office, said: “RC Consultants is well respected as the leading technical consultancy and staffing solutions provider in Norway. We are looking forward to welcoming RC Consultants’ employees on board and are focused on growing the team in Norway.

“We are focused on sustainable growth and are committed to helping RC Consultants continue to provide an excellent level of service to its clients and contractors and to expand its service offering.

Mr Buckley said the acquisition is strategically important and in a key market: “Norway is Europe’s largest oil producer, the world’s third-largest natural gas exporter and an important supplier of both oil and gas to countries across Europe. There are a lot of projects starting up across the continent, with a number of new discoveries being made in more testing environments where more advanced technology and skills are required, such as subsurface. There is also a huge demand for people with advanced scientific skills to work on older assets and help improve productivity and extend field life.

“Our new relationship with RC Consultants will ensure we are best placed to make the most of any opportunities and continue to offer the very best service to our clients, contractors and candidates.”

NES Global Talent, which is backed by US investment firm AEA investors, is still indentifying a successor to chief executive Neil Tregarthen, who stood down in April to devote more time to his family after a decade growing the business.

AEA operating partner Tig Gilliam is acting as interim CEO until a full-time replacement is found.
