Appointments: FWP hires three; Accrol Papers; Mr Loophole & more

CONSTRUCTION consultancy the Frank Whittle Partnership has strengthened its head office in Preston with a hat-trick of appointments.
 
Two of the new recruits join FWP’s team of Quantity Surveyors based at its Ribblesdale Place HQ.
Jonathan Hunter has joined the practice from a cost management specialist company working with BAW Systems in Lancashire. In his new role Jonathan is working on major FWP projects in the NHS and charitable sector.
 
Paul Cartwright also joins FWP as a senior quantity surveyor with experience working in multi-disciplinary practices and in the hotel and leisure sectors. The third new arrival at FWP is Kate Ellis, who joins the practice to work with the construction industry as an experienced health and safety executive.

LANCASHIRE-based  Accrol Papers  has boosted its senrior team with the appointment of Colin Platt as strategic projects director.

Mr Platt has extensive experience in the tissue industry having previously held directorships with SCA in the UK and abroad.

The company, which supplies kitchen towels and toilet paper to a number of retailers, has recently agreed a major investment deal with Manchester-based NorthEdge Capital.

MANCHESTER lawyer Nick Freeman has boosted his in-house team with the appointment of a specialist motoring solicitor.

Donald Maloney, 44,  has joined Manchester-based Freeman & Co after four years leading Panacea Law, which specialised in road traffic cases.

Mr Freeman, aka Mr Loophole, said: “We are delighted that Donald has joined the team at Freeman & Co. The last 12 months was one of our busiest on record and fortunately there has been no respite, and we are looking forward to a very exciting 2014. Donald has an extremely impressive CV and with his specialist knowledge in motoring law will undoubtedly prove a great asset to Freeman & Co.”

A MANCHESTER lawyer and expert in social housing has been appointed as a non-executive director of Leeds and  Yorkshire Housing Association.

Jack Harrington is a partner and head of social housing at Pannone Corporate and advises a number of housing associations across the north.

He said: “The Social Housing team at Pannone Corporate has built up a reputation as a trusted adviser to social housing providers and I am looking forward to utilising my skills as a non-executive member
of the LYHA board.”

BALLUFF, the manufacturer of components for sensors used in the automotive, food and packaging sectors amongst others, has appointed a new product marketing manager to its team in Cheshire.

Richard Neill, 45, from Telford, brings 16 years’ expertise in the automation sector to the 23-strong team at Balluff, which recently moved its UK office to Lostock Gralam, near Northwich.

Richard, a trained electrical engineer, said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team at Balluff. The company has a great work ethos, being committed to giving great customer care and offering superior quality products, and providing an excellent working environment for employees.”
