Sumners’ assets in sell-off

ASSETS of the failed TV post-production business Sumners will be sold off in an online auction this weekend.

The Manchester firm went into liquidation at the end of July blaming increased competition and the “southward drift” of work despite the growth of MediaCityUK.

JPS Surveyors has been appointed to handle the sale which has 500 lots and includes computers, hard drives, monitors and furniture.

Founded by husband and wife Andy and Janet Sumner in 1992 the company became the largest post-production house outside London with a turnover of £4.5m, but two years ago it moved from Whitworth Street West to smaller space at MediaCityUK and conducted a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).

The auction lots can be viewed on Friday 11am–2pm with the auction closing from 1pm on Tuesday August 26. More information can be found here.
