Growth drive pays off for business sale specialist

NORTH West business sale specialist KBS Corporate has reported a 20% rise in turnover after a marked pick-up in the M&A market, and investment in new staff and systems.

In the year to the end of May, turnover at Bolton-based KBS Corporate rose from £2.5m to £3m, while employee numbers increased from 45 to 65.

Describing the year as “exceptional” the firm said it had led more than 100 transactions. It also expanded its office network and invested £200,000 in business intelligence software to allow it to better identify potential acquirers internationally.

KBS Corporate, whose chairman is veteran corporate financier and entrepreneur, Tony Ford, now has offices in London, Edinburgh,  Bristol and Leeds as well as Bolton. It is looking to recruit a number of regional directors and managers with expert local knowledge to meet client demand and further boost its national presence.

The company advises companies with turnover of up to £50m and over the past 12 months has advised on a number of large deals, including the recent £9m sale of Warrington-based structural testing specialist, Testconsult, to stock market listed Cumbrian firm James Fisher.
