Mays eyes expansion with fifth shop
INDEPENDENT pawnbroker Mays is expanding with the opening of its fifth shop in Greater Manchester.
The business, which has outlets in Manchester city centre, oldham, Collyhurst and Salford, has taken a 10-year lease on a 850 sq ft unit at the Ladysmith Centre in Ashton under Lyne.
Commercial director Nick Withington said: “Signing the lease on the Ashton branch marks the start of a period of consolidated business growth for Mays.
“Underscoring our reputation as the oldest and best established pawnbrokers and jewellers in the region, we’re also ready to give the company a fresh new image, and the look of the new Ashton outlet reflects our pedigree and future perfectly.”
The outlet will offer pawnbroking; cash for gold; new and pre-owned jewellery retail; and jewellery repairs. The branch is due to open on October 16.
