Property briefs: GVA; Savills; Portman Travel

THE Manchester office of commercial agent GVA has been appointed to a Manchester City Council framework to provide a variety of property advice and consultancy services.

The two-year agreement is designed to help the council maximise revenue from its property portfolio and to aid regeneration and planning across the city region.

GVA will handle commercial valuations, specialist landlord and tenant advice, acquisitions and disposals, specialist property advice and regeneration and planning.

Mark Rawstron, head of GVA’s Manchester office, said: “We have an outstanding record in assisting local authorities manage their property assets, and we are looking forward to continuing to help Manchester City Council with a programme which will add real value to region.”

SAVILLS has been instructed by Green Property Ventures as managing agent at Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The 140,000 sq ft shopping centre, in Warrington Street, has more than 40 stores across two floors including Next, New Look, Superdrug and WH Smith.

Lee Pickles, director of property management at Savills, said: “Arcades Shopping Centre is home to an array of national retailers and has been one of Tameside’s most popular shopping destinations for almost 20 years.  We are looking forward to working with Green Property Ventures to build upon the existing success of the centre.”

PORTMAN Travel has agreed a new lease on George House, Mallory Yard, in Mobberley, Cheshire.

The 3,388 sq ft office has been taken on a five-year lease with parking for 12 cars at a rent of £39,660 a year.

The 6,760 sq ft building was bought out of administration by AEGIS Legal who occupy the ground floor.

Commercial agent, Regional Property Solutions, manage the building and negotiated the lease renewal.
