In Brief: Logitex gets Positive; Vivark; Shoot raises £33k for Brainwave

MANCHESTER invoice finance specialist Positive Cashflow Finance has provided St Helens-based Logistex Express with a £75,000 facility.
Logistex transports fixtures and fittings for bathrooms and has diversified into the movement of tropical fish.
They plan to use the cash to take on more contracts and increase turnover to more than £400,000.
Director Tom Reid said: “We were left in a very difficult position when our previous funder restricted our facility and were unsure how we would continue to grow the business. Thankfully Positive stepped in at short notice which gave us the peace of mind of knowing we had a supportive funder behind us.”

Businesses such as Logistex need to know that the funding is available to allow them to continue to grow without the worry of whether the funding could be restricted at any time.”
Positive is an independent invoice finance provider with offices in Manchester and Birmingham offering facilities from £10,000 to £1m.

LIVERPOOL facilities management company Vivark, part of First Ark Group, has secured a year-long contract to provide £500,000 of adaptations to the homes of Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) tenants who require changes due to illness or old age.
Work has already started on the contract with the installation of level access showers and ramps for tenants with limited mobility.
Future adaptions will include the installation of handrails and stair lifts, and room layout changes such as repositioning walls and widening door frames.
Vivark director Tony Cahill, said: “The contract win is going to have a positive impact across our local community. Not only has it demonstrated the trust that suppliers have in the expertise of the Vivark team and its service offering, it means that the lives of many of KHT’s tenants are going to be improved.”

COMPANIES such as Capital Properties and Investec have helped raise £33,000 for children’s charity Brainwave at a clay pigeon shoot in Cheshire.
The event was held at the end of September at the Duke of Westminster’s Eaton Estate.
Also participating were JLL, High Access, PST Legal, AS Green & Partners and Rok Recruitment.
Brainwave’s North West development manager Carole Headley said: “It’s a tough market organising charity events in the current economic climate and we want to thank our supporters who helped and contributed to making the day a great success and raise over £30,000.”
Warrington-based Brainwave works with families to deliver individual home-based therapy and exercise programmes for children with disabilities.
