Appointments: Wallwork joins Slater Heelis; Pannone Corporate; Stephensons; Gaucho

CORPORATE lawyer Simon Wallwork has left Weightmans for Slater Heelis.

The firm said his appointment as a partner reinforces its commercial ambition after merging with Cottrills and Mohindra Maini.

Wallwork was previously head of corporate at Pannone before leaving to build up the Manchester office of Semple Frazer.

He said: “I decided that a large corporate firm is not where I wanted to be. There is an opportunity in the legal world right now for a specialist practice that suits innovative, entrepreneurial clients who want the full range of business and personal services.

“Slater Heelis has the depth and infrastructure to support this and the ambition to deliver it. I want to play a key role in the firm’s future growth and success.”

Wallwork, who specialises in life sciences and tech businesses, will be based in Manchester and has been joined by his long time associate Rhian Owen.

Pannone Corporate chairman Steven Grant said: “Danielle is the latest strategic appointment of talented individuals to our growing team. She brings with her a wealth of experience in the commercial sector, particularly in IP, IT and media, and we are delighted to welcome Danielle to the firm.”
