Property briefs: Russells; Regatta; LSH

RUSSELLS Construction has completed work on an additional 50,000 sq ft at the Heywood headquarters of frozen food group Yearsley.
The shell of the building was constructed last year as part of a £20m investment in infrastructure by the Yearsley Logistics.
The new facility adds another 12,000 pallet spaces, taking the site’s total to 60,000 spaces over 300,000 sq ft.
Managing director Harry Yearsley said: “We invested throughout the recession in our infrastructure to make sure we were ready for the future requirements of our customers, and will continue to do so.
“The improvements in the economy are evident in the increase demand for capacity from customers in the cold storage market, requiring the completion and fit out of this additional facility at our Heywood headquarters. Russells Construction has been an important partner for Yearsley Logistics in helping us to improve our facilities nationwide and create the northern superhub which, at 60,000 pallet spaces, is the largest in our national network of cold stores.”
A third phase of development involves adding a further 50,000 sq ft.

STEEL has been delivered for the £7m conversion project at Regatta Group head office, which is home to brands Regatta, Dare2b, Craghoppers and Hawkshead.
An programme has now started to construct the steel framework of the new entrance of the head office.
The company is converting an existing warehouse and consolidating a number of other sites at Trafford Park to accommodate around 250 staff. The 60,000 sq ft facility should be finished by November next year.
Project manager Steve Pitts said: “The project is well under way with the delivery of the steel frames; this is a crucial and monumental stage of the build. We have 55 tonnes of rolled purlins and rails bolted together with 500 bolts which will be used during the week long steel construction programme.
“It’s great to see the steelwork going up, the development coming out of the ground and new entrance taking shape. We have been able to get a lot of the ground works done during the relatively good weather and hopefully this will continue!”
Caddick Construction is handling the project which has been designed by architect Fletcher-Rae.
