Robert Race joins WH Ireland

ROBERT Race, who led Brewin Dolphin’s office in Manchester for 13 years, has joined WH Ireland.

He will lead the wealth management operation at the firm’s Manchester office.

Race is chairman of the London Stock Exchange’s North West Regional Advisory Group and the Wood Street Mission, the charity which aims to alleviate the effects of poverty on women and children in Manchester and Salford.

WH Ireland’s chief executive Richard Killingbeck said: “I’m delighted to welcome Robert to WH Ireland’s Manchester office. He brings substantial experience managing money and advising private clients. I expect him to play a key role in growing our private client proposition.

“This appointment follows a number of other important hires for our private client business in London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and the Isle of Man which have significantly expanded our scale of operation and our discretionary management expertise.”

He is a former chairman of professional services organisation pro.manchester and at Brewin Dolphin he had a strong high net worth client base. He stood down from his office leadership role at the firm in August 2011 and was replaced by Bill Thomson.
