AstraZeneca cuts 250 jobs at Macclesfield plant

That round of redundancies was also prompted by the affect on revenues of cheaper, generic drugs. AstraZeneca said full-year earnings would be at the low end of the company’s forecast because this competition.
Last month the group reported a 29% rise in pre-tax profit to $2.4bn (£1.4bn). Turnover rose 9% to $7.7bn (£4.7bn). Earnings per share in the quarter were $1.20 (73p), up 33% on last year.
