Legal awards success for Bott & Co and Zebra

WILMSLOW-based Bott & Co was the biggest regional winner at the Modern Law Awards 2014.

The personal injury and flight delay specialist law firm won the  Client Care Initiative of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign of the year at the event in London last week.

Sale-based Zoe Holland from legal consultancy Zebra, whose work in the last year included advising private equity firm North Edge on its £15m investment in Cheshire law firm Robers Jackson, was named Entrepreneur of the Year.

Joanna Parkinson from Bolton-based firm Asons was named Rising Star of the the year, while accountants Baker Tilly won the won the ‘Supporting the Industry’ award.

Just Cost Solicitors celebrated as Shirley Rothel triumphed in the compliance officer of the year category. The firm was also highly commended in the ABS of the Year (over 100 employees) category, and founder Paul Shenton was shortlisted for Lawyer of the Year.

Several other firms were nominated including Stockport-based Gorvins, Hale-based litigation practice Blackstone and Aaron Partner of Chester were nominated.

Commenting on the double win, Ann Walter, client liaison aanager at Bott & Co, said: “The legal landscape is ever changing, but the one constant is that the client should come first, which is why we are so proud to have won this award. “

Senior partner David Bott added: “It’s a very humbling experience to be nominated and even more so to actually win.  I think this reflects all of the great work that Bott & Co has done since opening its doors in 2001.  I am incredibly proud of all the team and the tremendous effort they have put in over the past year.”
