Empty office block to become apartments

AN empty office building in Liverpool’s Moorfields will be brought back into use as an apartment block.

Planners in the city have approved a proposal to convert No 2 Moorfields, on the corner with Dale Street, into 136 apartments.

The scheme has been designed by Liverpool architect Falconer Chester Hall and is being brought forward by Isle of Man-based Miller Services.

The 64,000 sq ft 1980s block is linked to the grade II-listed 51-55 Dale Street. A ground floor office and blood donor suite will remain under the proposals.

Falconer Chester Hall’s managing director Adam Hall said: “This is a very recognisable red-brick building which will benefit from a sympathetic conversion into apartments ideal for those looking to live close to their place of work or city centre amenities.”
