Styles & Wood wins Waitrose revamp brief

PROPERTY services contractor Styles & Wood has been appointed to deliver a £3m refurbishment programme for upmarket grocer Waitrose.

The Trafford-based company will develop 48 branches nationwide to enhance the experience for Waitrose customers and integrate services for online shoppers.

Its teams will install new customer service desks, quick scan tills and click and collect points fitted with iPad stations.

The contract win follows S&W’s appointment to Waitrose’s ‘Front of Store’ framework in July 2013. Under the programme the group has already secured and completed refurbishments at 14 Waitrose stores over the last 12 months.

Andy Shaw, operations director at Styles & Wood, said: “Waitrose is using its knowledge of where the retail sector is headed to take a leading approach to how it blends the growing click and collect market with its in-store experience.

“Integrating technology has become a key area of expertise for the teams across the group owing to our work in both the retail and banking sectors where self-service and digitalisation are driving refurbishment projects.”

The company said in September it is seeing increasing levels of activity and confidence in it core markets and it was winning a number of significant contracts.
