Appointments: FDG; Pavis Financial Management; PM&M; Galibier PR

ARCHITECTURE practice, the Fairhursts Design Group (FDG), has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Janine Hames as head of interior design.

Hames, who has been running her own interior design consultancy for the past 12 years, has designed schemes for McDonald Hotels and high-end homes across the UK. Previously,

She spent six years working in Doha where she delivered a 100,000 sq ft palace for a prominent member of the Qatari royal family. Her role will be to expand the interior design business into new sectors.

LIVERPOOL-based Pavis Financial Management has appointed financial planner Duncan Shimmin as a director.

Shimmin has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector.

He joins managing director Bob Newton and fellow directors Julie Calvert and Quentin McCormick.

The firm said it was on course to boost its funds under management to more than £150m and is planning to increase staff numbers and office space.

BLACKBURN accountant PM+M has added seven new members of staff.

They are: Tim Farragher; Laura Fort; Lorna Hargreaves; Luke Irving; Faye Hughes; Daniel Hill; and Lauren Ainsworth.

Farragher has joined the wealth management team as paraplanner from Moore & Smalley; Fort is a trainee in the tax team; Hargreaves is an accounts assistant in the Run My Business division which handles services such as payroll, accounts and bookkeeping for small businesses; Irving has joined as the department’s accounts trainee; Faye Hughes has been appointed as marketing and business development manager, and will be supported by assistant Daniel Hill. Ainsworth has joined as a business administration apprentice.

MANCHESTER-based PR agency Galibier has added two new members to its team.

James Hennigan joins as a senior account manager while Nermin Ali has been appointed as a senior account executive.

Hennigan was previously head of media for Liberal Democrat MP John Leech as well as being a Manchester City Councillor for the Levenshulme ward.

Hennigan will work across Galibier’s client accounts in sectors including education, finance, technology and law. Ali was previously at Tree Communications where she worked for brands including The Printworks and Finnair. Hailing originally from Sweden and of Kurdish origin, she speaks six languages.
