Restaurateurs sign up to The Corn Exchange

AVIVA Investors has let nearly all the units at the Corn Exchange in Manchester which is being remodelled as a centre for eating out.

Twelve of the 14 units have been taken by existing brands and newcomers to the city.

The £30m redevelopment also includes an 86-bed boutique hotel.

The new tenants are: Electric Grill, a new concept from the Individual Restaurant Company called ; London’s Mexican-themed Wahaca and the Italian Vapiano; The Cosy Club; Brazilian barbecue Cabana; Vietnamese street food specialist Pho; burger bar Byron; Bar and Kitchen Banyan; Zizzi Ristorante; Pizza Express; and Salvi’s Deli and Tampopo which are trading as pop ups in Exchange Square.

Simon Green, from Aviva Property Investors Trust, said: “The redevelopment means a brand new offer for the city centre that is focused on great restaurants that simply aren’t available in Manchester currently, providing an environment where the best regional and independent food outlets can flourish in this incredible building – a gastronomic exchange.”
