Work starts on 100 King St

COMMERCIAL Development Projects, a Yorkshire-based company owned by developer Simon Marshall, has begun work on transforming the former HSBC bank building at 100 King St.
The Grade II* listed building, which was designed by renowned archited Edwin Lutyens, is being converted into 27,000 sq ft of Grade A space, with offices on the upper floors and the former banking hall being converted for “vibrant” use, according to joint letting agents DTZ.
Jamie’s Italian, the chain of restaurants owned by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, has already applied for an alcohol licence and a spokesman for Jamie Olver Group confirmed earlier this month that it intends to open its 16th Jamie’s Italian at the site next summer.
Rob Yates, office agency director at DTZ, said: “The building is available to lease in self contained floors from 3,000 – 5,500 sq ft. We anticipate strong demand.
“The building offers occupiers a superb address and an excellent floor plate with fantastic natural light on three elevations. The accommodation will be ready for occupation by summer 2011.”
Knight Frank are the joint letting agents.
