Appointments: Giles Fletcher; CBRE; GVA

GILES Fletcher, who landed the top job for the Yorkshire and Humber CBI earlier this year, has left the business organisation.

Fletcher, who was previously assistant regional director of the CBI in the North West, took over the reins from head of the CBI in Yorkshire, Andrew Palmer who was seconded to Scotland to become operations director. According to the CBI, Fletcher has left to “pursue other interests”.

Palmer is still in Scotland, and now assistant regional director of the CBI, John Huddleston, is heading up the Yorkshire and Humber region.

A CBI spokesman said: “Giles Fletcher has left the CBI for personal reasons after holding the temporary post of acting regional director in Yorkshire and the Humber since the start of the year.  We wish him well and expect to make an announcement about a replacement shortly. Andrew Palmer remains as CBI operations director, based in Scotland.”
