Duff & Phelps partner bailed on Rangers charges

DAVID Whitehouse, a partner at Duff&Phelps in Manchester, has been charged in connection with alleged fraudulent activity linked to the sale of Scottish football club Rangers.

Mr Whitehouse, who was arrested at his Wilmslow home on Friday, appeared at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, and was granted bail.

He appared along with D&P colleagues Paul Clark and David Grier and a fourth man, Gary Withey.

All four are accused of involvement in an alleged fraudulent scheme to acquire Rangers in 2011. Withey, from Surrey, faces a second charge under the Companies Act.

Whitehouse, Clark, and Grier, from Wokingham, Berkshire, are also accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

They made no plea or declaration and will appear in court again at a later date.
