Absolutely fabulous! Region’s top PRs honoured

THE cream of the region’s public relations talent was honoured at an awards ceremony in Manchester on Wednesday night.

Hosted by Sale-born BBC Sport presenter Nina Warhurst, the 2014 CIPR North West PRide Awards, saw Liverpool’s Alder Hey hospital triumph with three Gold Awards, for  not-for-profit camapign, healthcare campaign and outstanding young communicator, which was won by team member Matt Dunn.

Other multiple Gold Award winners were Everton Football Club, Hale-based Peppermint Soda, and Manchester consumer agency Smoking Gun PR, which each won two awards.

The prestigious Gold Awards for Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy, and Outstanding In-House Public Relations Team, were presented to Cheshire-based de Winter PR, and Warrington-based Electricity North West, respectively.

Abi Whitfield, chair of CIPR North West, said: “Yet again we have seen a significant increase in the quality and quantity of entries coming through. The PRide Awards are the most prestigious regional PR awards in our calendar, so it is great to see so many people coming together to celebrate the best of the North West’s talent and campaigns.”
