Fizz for BDO after Nichols audit win

THE Manchester office of accountancy group BDO has been appointed auditor to Nichols, the stock market-listed drinks group behind Vimto.

The firm, the UK’s fifth largest accountant, won the job following a competitive pitch against a “Big Four rival” led by audit partner Philip Storer.

As well as producing Vimto, which is sold in more than 70 countries, the Newton-le-Willows-based group owns the Levi Roots, Weight Watchers and Sunkist brands.

Mr Storer said: “Nichols has great products and history, and is being driven by an impressive management team with a real passion for the business. The future certainly looks bright and we are proud to be working with Nichols, one of the most iconic brands in the North West.”

Tim Croston, group financial director at Nichols, said: “Choosing an auditor is a big decision. BDO’s experience with AIM companies, our sector and in dealing with international groups made them the perfect choice. They are also a great set of people that take pride in what they do and we’re very much looking forward to working with them over the coming years.”
