Wholesaler on the move after funding fillip

A NORTH West medical products wholesaler is on the move to new premises after borrowing more than £1m.
Dormex Containers, a family-owned Rochdale company with £5m turnover, is moving to a new site in Frodsham, Cheshire, after the £1.3m funding line from Barclays Corporate in Manchester.
Dormex, which was established in 1957 to manufacture, wholesale and distribute syringes and other medical equipment, now provides plastic laboratory equipment and pharmaceutical packaging.
Dormex currently employs 60 staff split across its head office in Rochdale and a warehouse in Cheshire.
The new building in Frodsham will eventually enable Dormex to relocate onto one site and give room for extra capacity to continue its strong growth story.
Managing director Kevin Murphy said: “Dormex is a thriving business with a reputation for quality, experience and excellent customer service.
“The move to new premises will be phased over the next few months and will enable us to meet our growth aspirations whilst maintaining the highest level of service for our customers.”
The deal was arranged by Barclays Corporate in Manchester led by Miles Rothbury, relationship director and Alex Guidi, risk solutions group. Barclays were advised by Sanderson Weatherall.
Mr Rothbury said: “We are delighted to provide funding support to our long standing customer to assist them in delivering their growth aspirations, and which demonstrates our commitment to funding businesses in a variety of sectors.”
