Forrest secures place on £100m framework

SOCIAL housing contractor Forrest has been appointed to a £100m framework agreement by Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA).

The four-year framework led by NCHA, in a consortium with 18 other housing providers, includes contracts for the design and construction of mixed-use housing developments across six areas from Nottingham and Lincolnshire to Buckinghamshire.

Work allocated through the framework will be awarded through a competitive tendering process.

Forrest has been appointed to jobs worth more than £1m across Nottingham, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire.

Lee McCarren, chief executive at Bolton-based Forrest, said: “We’ve established ourselves as a key partner on some of the biggest frameworks in the North West and this agreement demonstrates our ability to compete on a national level.

“The framework has a focus on new-build development and this is where more projects are heading. There is a serious need to reduce the social housing shortfall across the UK, which is why it’s encouraging to see a consortia forming to ensure that projects can be delivered quickly and efficiently.”
