Health Assured plans jobs growth as sales surge

AN EMPLOYEE wellbeing business owned by entrepreneur Peter Done, has reported strong financial results and revealed plans to hire a further 20 staff.

Health Assured, which was bought by Mr Done’s Peninsula Business Services Group  in 2011, said turnover rose 49%  to £3.05m in the year to the end of March 2014.

In the same timeframe, staff numbers at the Manchester business have increased from 31 to 47. A further 20 new appointments are planned.

Mr Done said: “Acquiring Health Assured was a no brainer, I could see the potential right from the start. It was a good business offering, a great service to employers and employees. When we took over Health Assured in 2011 it had 3,000 clients, now we are advising almost 8,000 businesses, so I am really pleased with performance and it complements what our employment law consultancy Peninsula does.”

“I was so impressed with the service offering of Health Assured that I implemented it within my other businesses as a benefit to staff – I’m not going to do that unless I am 100% happy with the product. They have fantastic counsellors who can advise workers on anything from financial difficulties to personal issues.”

Mr Peter Done added: “The number of employers taking up the Health Assured service is growing so I’ve invested heavily in logistics and computer systems. In the next year I am likely to create 20 new roles in the form of counsellors, based here at the Manchester HQ.”
