THOMAS Gardner has been appointed the executive chef at the Dining Rooms at Worsley Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club.

The hotel said he plans to create a dining experience with each dish telling a story of Manchester and the North West.

He said: “My vision is for each dish to sing about the region with tastes and produce that remind diners about why the North West is so special. Each dish will tell a story and take guests on a journey from the coast to the countryside taking in Lancashire’s rich history and geography.

“It is important to me to take time to read and research not only cooking from the North West, but study the region itself to give each dish purpose and clarity. Whatever we produce, it will come from the heart.”

After training in Preston, Gardner started his career 17 years ago at the city’s Marriott where he progressed from apprentice to senior sous chef.
