Excello Law says more will join first NW office

LONDON commercal legal practice Excello Law has opened its first office in the North West.

It has made its first four hires to be based at the office at One Derby Square, Liverpool.  They are: former Hill Dickinson company and commercial partner, Glyn Dale-Jones, corporate lawyers Heather Summers and Tom Sutcliffe and commercial property specialist Peter McHugh.

Heather Summers was one of the founding partners of JST Law in 1998.  She has  considerable commercial property and third sector experience, acting for clients such as property group Iliad and a number of Sector Skills Councils.

She said: “Moving to Excello Law is the perfect opportunity for me to continue to look after and grow my client base. The firm gives experienced lawyers the freedom to practice and deliver the service their clients want in the way they want it. This is an exciting place to be and is destined for growth.”

Tom Sutcllife was one of the founding team of DTM Legal a North West practice. He previously worked for Bank of America and also spent some time working for the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

Peter McHugh is an experienced commercial property lawyer who specialises in development land acquisition, secured lending, insolvency and landlord and tenant transactions for a large number of property owners, builders, entrepreneurs and investors. He previously worked at Weightmans before moving to JST Lawyers.

The firm’s founder and managing director, George Bisnought, says: “This move signals an important step in the evolution of Excello Law. It shows the market that we’re wholly serious about creating a business that gives lawyers the freedom to practice, while clients are buying into the opportunity to have real access to some of the UK’s most accomplished corporate lawyers at far greater value than many traditional law firms. I expect to make further appointments to our Liverpool team in the New Year.”

Founded in 2009 Excello operates a highly flexible business model and only hires lawyers with both experience and their own client following.

As well as London, it also has an office in Leeds.
