Appointments: Carole Nash; Avalon & more

SPECIALIST vehicle insurance broker Carole Nash has appointed Phil Evans, its former head of operations, to a senior executive role.

Evans spent more than five years at the Altrincham company before leaving in 2011 to join van insurance intermediary Autonet.

His return to Carole Nash sees him replace Dave Cullen who has left the business to take on a managing directorship outside of the insurance industry. His responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s sales and customer service operations, covering both its core motorcycle business and growing cherished cars division.

He said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Carole Nash and to be taking on such a significant and challenging role at what I know to be one of the UK’s pre-eminent personal lines brokers.  It’s going to be good to be back.”

LIVERPOOL-based QualitySolicitors Jackson Canter has appointed Brian Cullen as chief operating officer.

Cullen is a former head of sponsorship and events at the Commercial Bank of Qatar and has considerable corporate expertise.

In his new role he help support the firms growth plans, which have included a recent launch into Manchester.

WILMSLOW pre-paid funeral plan provider has appointed a Adam Fisher as a business development manager.

Fisher joins Avalon from the Co-operative Funeralcare where he managed the commercial relationships with its distribution partners such as AXA Wealth and Aviva. Before joining The Co-op he spent almost eight years at loans broker Freedom Finance.

He said: “Avalon is a progressive and ambitious company. With my commercial and operational background, I believe I can help this business to continue to grow and become the funeral plan provider of choice for customers and distribution partners alike.”

CHORLEY  waste container services firm, Fairport Containers, has boosted its team with the appointment of a new sales and online account manager.

Chaya Fernando, 34, from Parbold, has been appointed to be a main sales contact for key accounts and to drive sales of waste containers, recycling banks and spare parts through the firm’s online store.

Managing director, Steve Collinson, added: “Chaya’s skills will bring a new dimension to our offering as a business and we are really pleased to welcome her on board.”

Fairport Containers, headquartered on Market Street, Adlington, provides refurbishment, remodelling, sale and hire of steel waste containers and recycling banks to waste management firms, local authorities, businesses and charities across the country.
