Q1 sales up 6% at Topps Tiles

TOPPS Tiles has made a strong start to its financial year with first quarter like-for-like sales up by 6%.

The Handforth-based retailer which trades from 336 stores nationwide has a 30% share of the market.

It said the performance was pleasing because it built on strong sales in the same period last year.

Chief executive Matthew Williams said: “I am delighted to report an encouraging start to our financial year with like-for-like sales growth of 6.0% in the first quarter.

“This is particularly pleasing as it builds on our strong sales growth in the corresponding period in the prior year. We are confident that our plan for 2015 will see us further extend the appeal of the Topps brand and move closer to our strategic goal of taking a one third share of the domestic tile market.”
