Appointments: Promotions at Legat Owen; Frank Armitt hires & more

CHESTER-based chartered surveyors Legat Owen has promoted four staff to associate director.

The quartet are: Dan Oliver, Sarah McCune, Natalie Tansey and Mark Diaper. Oliver has more than 15 years’ experience of retail and leisure property.  Currently retained by Costa and Heron Foods on acquisitions of new stores.

Sarah McCune manages a portfolio of properties including retail, office and business technology parks for clients.  Natalie Tansey joined Legat Owen in 2003 and advises clients on all aspects of property management and also manages a varied portfolio of commercial property, including a number of shopping centres. She also advises clients on landlord and tenant matters,  provides rating consultancy and is an RICS Registered Valuer.

Mark Diaper has more than 12 years’ in the firm’s industrial agency team within its business space department and specialising in the acquisition and disposal of industrial premises and land.

RUNCORN-based shipbroking and steel logistics business Frank Armitt & Son has appointed a new commercial director.

The company has lured experienced sector professional Nick Marshall to the role.  Marshall was previously director of chartering for Collett Marine in Grimsby and before that was commercial director for DFDS, leading global freight solutions teams for steel and project cargo shipments across the globe.

Family-owned Armitt engaged Chester-based logistics-focused executive recruitment business Sherrington Associates to identify the right candidate for the role.

Managing director Charles Gray said: “I am really pleased that Nick has joined our group and I believe that he brings with him a wealth of experience to help The Armitt Group deliver an ambitious strategy for growth.  

“The key to this recruitment was finding someone who understood our values and had the necessary experience to deliver this growth plan.”

LANCASHIRE flood and pollution prevention business Detectronic has hired Andrew Southall as operations manager for the South West of England and Wales and Phill Tuxford as a sales and technical support engineer.
 
Southall has moe than 17 years’ experience of working in the UK water industry and in his new role, Southall will help scale Detectronic’s business and develop operational bases in the South West.

Steve Woods, managing director at Detectronic said: “Andrew’s knowledge of both the water industry and the south west region are key to our continued business development with some of our key customers in the UK.
 
“Phill has an excellent working knowledge of our business combined with valuable experience of data monitoring and analysis in the UK and European water industries. We’re proud to have him and Andrew join our growing team of professionals.”

CHESHIRE-based catering equipment manufacturer C&C Catering Equipment has appointed Matt Summers as project manager.  

Paul Parry, C&C’s project director said: “Matt will be a great asset to our business, he is a young and dynamic professional who will further develop our expanding team. We know Matt from his previous position at Hepburn Associates and we understand how he can add value to our company.”

Managing director Peter Kitchin added: “Matt Summers is our third appointment in two months and we intend to keep growing and moving forward as a company. Bringing in new people is exciting for all the team and 2015 will be another big year for us.”
