New era for Manson

MANSON Insurance Group is changing its name, nearly 40 years after its launch in Manchester.

The rebrand of the 90-strong conpany, which comprises Manson Insurance Brokers and Manson Warner Healthcare, comes two years after its £16m acquisition by Bristol-based Jelf Group.

From today the business will be known as Jelf Manson. Its insurance arm will be led by Mike Latham and the health and wellbeing division by Jason Britton.

Founder Jon Manson remains as an executive director of Jelf Manson and a board member of AIM-listed Jelf Group.

After taking shares in the business as part of the acquisition fee, Mr Manson is one the company’s largest shareholders. Last year Jelf Group turned over £70m.

Mr Latham said: ” “Both Manson and Jelf are committed to providing a first class service for our clients. We are passionate about being, and remaining, a community broker. Becoming more closely aligned with Jelf will enable us to make the most of our scale, our specialisms and our expertise which will benefit our clients. This is a hugely positive step forward.”

Manson Insurance, which is based on Quay Street in the city, was founded by Jon Manson in 1971. The healthcare business was launched in 1988.
