Appointments: R3; adept4; Simple Lighting

EY’S STEVEN Henderson has been appointed as chair of the R3 North West new professionals group, which organises social events and networking opportunities for those in the early stages of their insolvency careers.

R3 is the association of business recovery professionals.

Henderson replaces Katie Norman of Gateley, who has led the group since its launch a year ago.

An assistant director at EY, Henderson has over eight years’ experience in restructuring. The new deputy chair will be Laura Baker, a solicitor in Turner Parkinson’s insolvency team who is also a qualified insolvency practitioner.

Richard Wolff, North West chair of R3 and head of insolvency at JMW Solicitors, said: “The new professionals group has proved extremely popular, with many enthusiastic people attending the events and going onto the mailing list. Katie has done a sterling job in launching the group and leading it during its inaugural year.”

IT services consultancy adept4 has hired three new members of staff.

The firm, which has offices Daresbury, Aberdeen and London, has appointed Cheryl Wood as a project manager, and Adrian Beck and Gabor Balogh who will work on the support desk.

Wood previously worked at Manchester IT group ANS while Beck joins from BT and Balogh from Unisys-Microsoft.

Chief executive Peter Birkett, said: “In the ever-changing and evolving IT landscape we need to ensure that we continue to invest in people, who remain at the core of what we do. 2014 was a great year for adept4, thanks in the most part to the skilled team we’ve nurtured, based across the company’s offices.

“This series of appointments are part of long-term plans to strengthen and grow the team and support the planned growth trajectory for adept4 in 2015.”

BIRKENHEAD-based lighting supplier Simple Lighting has appointed a new marketing executive to promote content online and manage social media.

Kimberley Whitley, from Chester, has over four years’ experience working in e-commerce digital marketing and previously worked at utility switching firm Make It Cheaper in Bromborough.

Managing director Chris Bawden said: “We are delighted to welcome Kim to the team and we look forward to seeing the vast impact her valuable experience will have on the business. Kim will be an asset to the company and will also work alongside our digital marketing agency to ensure Simple Lighting is a brand that everybody knows and importantly loves.”
